Obituario de Stephen Borges
Stephen Michael Borges, age 58, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026.
Born on May 28, 1968, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Stephen spent most of his life in the city he proudly called home before later relocating to North Carolina. He was the youngest of five children born to the late Fernando and Geraldine Borges.
Stephen will be remembered for his generous heart, infectious sense of humor, and remarkable ability to make everyone around him smile. Whether through his spot-on impersonations, witty jokes, or playful personality, he had a gift for bringing laughter and light into the lives of those who knew him. His warmth, kindness, and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica Borges; his former wife, Nancy; his loving son, Brendon Borges; his cherished daughter, Gianna Borges; and his precious granddaughter, Trinity, who brought him endless joy and pride.
He is also survived by his devoted siblings: Cynthia Ferreira and her husband, Dave; Joyce Ferreira and her husband, Paul; Elaine Emond and her husband, Rick; and his brother, Fernando Borges and his wife, Bernadette. Stephen was a proud and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and a treasured great-uncle to many great-nieces and great-nephews. He cherished each of them and valued the special relationships they shared.
Stephen was an avid Boston Bruins and New England Patriots fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. He enjoyed following current events, listening to the music of the 1980s, attending the theater, and sharing a good comedy. Above all else, Stephen treasured his family. He deeply loved his children, granddaughter, siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family, and found great happiness in celebrating life's moments with them.
Those fortunate enough to know Stephen will remember his generous spirit, unwavering loyalty, and contagious laughter. He had a unique ability to brighten any room and make people feel welcome through his humor and genuine kindness. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service celebrating Stephen's life will be announced by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Stephen's memory to perform an act of kindness, share laughter with those they love, cheer on the Bruins or Patriots, or make a donation to a charity of their choice in his memory.
