Sandra Welborn passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on October 5, 1942, in Danville, Illinois, she lived a life centered on family, steady care, and the quiet ways people hold one another together across the years. Her presence was a source of comfort and connection, and her family remembers her as someone who helped make a house feel like home.

Sandra was predeceased by her parents, her cherished grandson, and a great-grandson. She is remembered with love by her daughter, Christine Layne; her grandchildren Tiffany (Holly) Walden, Heather (Jerry) McGill, Rachel Wade, and Jeffrey Wade; 18 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Through them, her story continues in the relationships she helped build and in the family bonds she nurtured over time.

Sandra found joy in simple pleasures. She loved gardening, and her garden reflected the care she gave to the things she tended. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds, and she took part in bingo nights and family gatherings that gave her time with the people she loved most. These ordinary moments, repeated and remembered, now form part of the lasting story her family will carry forward.

Services will be held at a date and location yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, her family invites those who wish to honor her memory to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice.
