Bryan Edward Thompson, 42, of South Charleston, West Virginia, passed away on January 7, 2026.
He was born on January 5, 1984, in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Jeffrey Edward Thompson and Michelle Greene (Thompson).
Bryan was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Edward Thompson; his grandmother, Carol Rae Thompson; and his great-grandmother, Mary Jean Fine.
Bryan will be missed by his beloved son, Bryan Tyler Thompson, who was the light of his life; his mother, Michelle S. Greene; his grandmother, Barbara Greene-Vanover; and his siblings: Jeffery Thompson (Caroline Thompson), Franki Thompson (Maddox Boyd and Riley Osborne), and Houston Thompson (Ashleigh Thompson and daughter Amelia “Milly” Thompson).
He is also survived by Tyler’s mother, Mary Osborne, and by his former wife, Emily Stessman.
Those who cherished Bryan include his aunts, Sandy Rana (Hebeeb Rana) and Cathy Bougher (Bo Bougher); his uncles, Kelly Thompson (Kim Thompson) and Allen Burns (Jason Burns); cousins Trisha Lopez, Danny Lupson (Kaden Lupson and Peyton Lupson), Jeremy Lupson, and Molly Thompson; as well as many friends who loved him deeply.
Bryan was employed with Dunbar Sanitary Services, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee.
Bryan enjoyed console gaming, fishing, college football, riding ATVs, and he had a lifelong love of caring for animals. He was most happy spending time with his son Tyler. Bryan was kind-hearted and full of humor, enjoying playful banter with those close to him. He also had a particular love for deviled eggs and never missed an opportunity to have his mother make them for him every visit.
