George Ray Richan's Obituary

George Ray Richan, 48, of Idaho falls, Idaho passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Madras, Oregon. He passed unexpectedly due to illness. George was born on September 2, 1977 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He grew up in Idaho falls, Idaho and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1995. After high school he went to Angell Job Corp. in Yachate, Oregon and studied for a Business Degree. While in training he was able to live in many states, Oregon, Missouri, Georgia, and New York. He worked for Northfork Southern Railroad in New York and Georgia. He later moved back to Idaho Falls, Idaho and worked various retail stores. He was a hard working, middle class, family supporting, life living man. He loved his beautiful state of Idaho. Love hunting, fishing, camping, playing darts, drinking beer, and most of all loved NASCAR! He loved people and people loved him. He was always waiting for a hug and asking how you were. He had a great smile and infectious laugh.

He met Katherine Pitman in 2007. They were married in Idaho Falls, Idaho September 9th, 2009.

George is survived by his wife Katherine Richan, Daughter Vannessa (Max) Villasenor, and son Jadyn Villasenor. His father David (Step-mother Jacqueline) Richan, sisters- Bettie Mae of Idaho Falls, Sara (Dave) of Marysville, and Angel of Montana brother, Frank of Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, whom he loved immensely. He was preceded in death by his mother Sally.

George will be deeply missed by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Interment will follow at Riverside-Thomas Cemetery in Blackfoot, Idaho.
