Maria Rojas Hernandez

Maria Rojas Hernandez, a beloved grandmother and pillar of love to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on January 22 of this year in Willimantic, Connecticut, at the age of 84. Born in Puerto Rico, Maria carried her heritage with pride and shared its warmth wherever she went.

Maria was a devoted grandmother to six grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply and unconditionally. She had a special gift for caring for others and lived by her guiding belief: treat others as family, because we are all children of God. This philosophy shaped her life and touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She found joy and purpose in cooking for those she loved, filling homes with comforting aromas and heartfelt meals. Her hands were rarely still—she delighted in handcrafting clothes, blankets, and small trinkets, each piece made with patience, skill, and love. These creations now stand as cherished reminders of her gentle spirit.

Maria will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the way she made people feel welcomed and cared for. Her legacy lives on through her family, her grandchildren, and the many lives she touched with her warmth and faith.
