Rita Katharina Robertson's Obituary

Rita Katharina Robertson, 87, of Tigard, Oregon, passed away peacefully at her home on January 3, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Zendscheid, Germany, on November 22, 1938, Rita’s life was one of remarkable perseverance. She survived the hardships and aftermath of World War II before emigrating to the United States, where she embraced American citizenship with pride and forged a successful life in her adopted home. At Tektronix, she excelled as Product Sales Support Manager until her well-deserved retirement.

Rita delighted in life’s simple pleasures: tending her garden, traveling to new horizons, and ocean fishing on the Pacific waters she came to love. Above all, she found her greatest joy in the company of her family. She loved hosting gatherings and cooking traditional German meals that brought everyone together. As the heart of her family, Rita raised her children and helped guide grandchildren and great-grandchildren alike, serving as the devoted matriarch of three generations.

Rita is survived by her lifetime partner, Allen Matilla; her daughters, Maria and Laura; her son, Steven; many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her two living siblings, Anton and Erika. She was predeceased by her sister, Eleonore, and her parents, William and Anna Erdorf. In accordance with her wishes, Rita’s ashes will be scattered at sea in the summer.

Her legacy of strength, grace, and boundless love lives on in the lives she touched and the generations she nurtured.
